Suzuki Swift Sport - Build for the Tracks…

The legendary Swift GTi with the 1.3-litre Cultus engine is one car that will be forever etched in the memory of Swift enthusiasts. At present the baton of this legacy is passed onto the current model; the 5th generation Swift which was launched as a CBU model in 2005 and by year 2007 as a CKD unit here in Malaysia, only problem was …. they are available only with auto transmission, which to many a performance enthusiasts was a turn-off.

But, FYI the Swift is no slouch when it comes to performance in the motorsports arena, and in the Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) it showed its true potential as a great race car, assisting their drivers in getting to the podium from 2005-2007. If you had watched the Hot Version program that had featured this JWRC Swift that is equipped with the ‘dogbox’ transmission, you would had seen that even Keiichi Tsuchiya, the host for the program is full of praises for this car.
