BMW E46 318i - Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
The Italians and German are renowned for their luxurious and exotic cars that had caught the imagination of many a car enthusiast. And the BMW is one such marque that pops into mind whenever one is questioned as to what is their dream car, more so for the young and young at heart. This German piece of metal does not need have a big turbo or a little blue bottle in the trunk to define what it is capable of in terms of performance. But then again, acquiring a unit is not that hard financially (the older models), but maintaining it is another matter (just ask any bimmer owner) and many salaried worker like myself would only get to admire it from afar.
One lucky youngster who could afford both (purchase and maintenance) is Vincent, the owner of this featured 2005 3-Series E46. With extra ‘change’ in his pocket Vincent had decided to give his ride a new image and had such listed down a modification programme, which focus is on body styling.
The first thing that caught my attention was the bulkiness of the car, as it is at present wrapped in a custom made wide body kit, courtesy of a company named SPS. This kit comprises of the front and rear fenders, and to compliment this, M3 front and rear bumper were installed. Seen installed onto the front bumper is a custom made carbon fiber lip, while the rear bumper received a custom rear diffuser, also from this material. Other carbon fiber products seen are the front hood, rear trunk lid and GT wing, all from Racecraft. These black pieces do give a sharp contrast to the car’s Crystal White color paint job, accentuating the car’s overall appearance, which the end result I must admit knock the breath out of me.
